HOW TO ENTER
Primary school teachers and students simply need to register their details via the online form
at www.visyenviromaniacs.com.au (in Australia)
or www.visyenviromaniacs.co.nz (in New Zealand).
Once registered, teachers will have access to a set of environmental lesson plans to run with
their class, and students will have access to a range of environmental education games to play.
For details concerning your personal information see condition 3.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
- Information on how to enter and prizes forms part of these conditions. Entry into this
competition is deemed to be an acceptance of these conditions.
- The Visy Enviromaniacs Program is a free school-based social studies and environment
program. Entry into the Visy Enviromaniacs Program is open to all Australian and New
Zealand primary schools, their teachers and attending students. Employees of the
Promoter and its agencies associated with this promotion and their immediate families
are not eligible to enter.
- Protecting your personal information – Information contained on entries may be entered
into a database and the Promoter and its related companies may use that information
for communicating with entrants. Information contained on the entries will be used
exclusively by the Promoter and its related companies and not provided to any other
party. By entering the promotion, each entrant agrees that the Promoter may disclose
entrants' personal information to State and Territory lottery departments, and that the
winner's names and State/Territory may be published as required under the relevant
lottery legislation. A request to access, correct or update any personal information
should be directed to the Promoter at the address provided below.
- Competition commences at 12.01am (AEST) on 3/08/09 and entries close at 11.59pm (AEST)
on 30/07/10 (Promotional Period). The competition involves 3 prize draws – a teacher
draw, a school draw and a student draw. The teacher draw will take place at 10am, the
school draw at 10.15am and the student draw at 10.30am (AEST) on 6/08/10 at Focal
Promotions, Suite 1, 20 Wangara Road, Sandringham VIC 3191. Winners will be notified by
phone and mail and the names of winners of prizes valued over $250 will be published in
'The Australian' and 'New Zealand Herald' newspapers on 13/08/10.

- Teachers and students may only enter the competition prizedraw once. Entry will occur when
they first visit the website and register their details using the online registration form.
Each school will receive only one entry into the school prize draw, occurring when the
first teacher or student from that school registers their details.
- Entrants can only enter in their own name. The Promoter reserves the right to confirm and
verify the identity of a winner, by requesting the winner to provide proof of age, proof of
identity and proof of residency. Identification considered suitable is at the Promoters
absolute discretion. The Promoter reserves the right, in its absolute discretion to
disqualify any entrant for failing to comply with any of these conditions of entry in good
faith.
- Prize Draws: The competition will include the following prize draws and prizes:
- Teacher Prize Draw – The first valid entry randomly drawn from all
teacher entries received from Australia and New Zealand during the promotional period
will win a Cairns Getaway for 2, maximum value AUD$3000 in Australia and NZD$3720 in
New Zealand. The prize includes return economy airfares for 2 adults to Cairns from
the capital city nearest to the winner's place of residence; return airport/accommodation
transfers, 3 night's accommodation at The Hotel Cairns and breakfasts daily. Prize does
not include spending money, meals, drinks, transport to and from departure point, passports,
departure taxes, vaccinations, visas, insurance, or any other ancillary costs, which are
the sole responsibility of the winner. Prize is valid for 12 months from 6/08/10 and is
subject to flight and accommodation conditions, black out periods and availability. The
next 5 valid entries drawn from each of Australia and New Zealand will each win a 12
month subscription to ReNew Magazine, valued at AUD$30 in Australia and NZD$50 in New
Zealand.
- School Prize Draw – The first valid entry randomly drawn from all
school entries received from Australia and New Zealand during the promotional period will
win AUD$2000 in Australia or NZD$2000 in New Zealand, to be used toward the purchase of new
computer equipment for the school. The prize will be awarded as a cheque made out to the
winning school. The next 3 valid entries drawn from each of Australia and New Zealand will
each win a AUD$500 Angus & Robertson Gift Voucher in Australia or a NZD$500 Whitcoulls Gift
Voucher in New Zealand. Angus & Robertson and Whitcoulls conditions of use apply to each
respective gift voucher and the prize winners should refer to the gift voucher for further
information.
- Student Prize Draw – The first 3 valid entries drawn from each of Australia
and New Zealand will each win an iPod Shuffle 4GB, valued at AUD$129 in Australia and NZD$155
in New Zealand. The next 10 valid entries drawn from each of Australia and New Zealand will
each win a Neco Water Saving Shower Timer, valued at AUD$20 in Australia and NZD$25 in New
Zealand. The next 10 valid entries drawn from each of Australia and New Zealand will each win
an iTunes Gift Card, valued at AUD$20 each in Australia and NZD$20 in New Zealand. The next
25 valid entries drawn from each of Australia and New Zealand will each win a Double Movie
Pass, valued at AUD$17.50 in Australia and NZD$22 in New Zealand. The double movie pass
awarded to students in Australia will be valid for use at Village, Greater Union and Birch
Carroll & Coyle Cinemas throughout Australia. The double movie pass awarded to students in
New Zealand will be valid for use at SkyCity Cinemas throughout New Zealand. Redemption of
each movie pass is subject to the conditions of use specified on the relevant movie pass
ticket.
Total prize pool in Australia: 58 prizes. Maximum total value of prize pool
in Australia is AUD$7874.50. Total prize pool New Zealand: 58 prizes. Maximum total value of
prize pool in New Zealand is NZD$8935. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and
cannot be taken as cash. Winners should allow at least 4 weeks from the draw date for
delivery of prizes.
- If a drawn entry is deemed not to comply with these conditions of entry, the entry will be discarded
and the next drawn entry that does comply with these conditions of entry will be awarded the prize.
The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Prize winners are advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and they should
seek independent financial and/or taxation advice prior to the acceptance of the prize. The Promoter
accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise for a winner.
- Values of prizes are shown as a guide only and were correct at time of printing and include GST where
applicable. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize values. The Promoter
reserves the right to substitute prizes of similar replacement type and value, subject to state
legislation, should the items specified in item 8 above be unavailable or superseded by the suppliers.
- In the event of a prize not being accepted or claimed within 3 months of the end of the promotional
period, the relevant winner's entry will be deemed invalid and the Promoter reserves the right to conduct
a further draw at 10am (AEDT) on 19/11/10 at the same location as the original draw, as is necessary to
distribute the prize, subject to any written directions given by the relevant gaming authority. The winner,
if any, will be notified by phone and in writing and if the prize is valued over AUD$250 their name and
state/territory of residence will be published in 'The Australian' and 'New Zealand Herald' newspapers on
26/11/10.
- If a prize has already been awarded, and the Promoter determines that the winner was in breach of these
terms and conditions of entry upon entering the promotion, the Promoter reserves the right to request the
winner to return the prize, or its monetary equivalent.
- The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost, incomprehensible, incomplete, incorrect,
inaccurate, delayed or misdirected entries, or for any theft, destruction, unauthorised access to,
alteration or tampering of entries or any combination thereof, either caused by the entrant or as a result
of any of the systems, equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this promotion, or for any
technical or human error, traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination thereof,
that may occur in the course of the administration of the promotion including any omission, interruption,
deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, computer line, computer equipment, software, server
or power failure, or for any injury or damage to entrants or any other person's computer related to or
resulting from participating in or downloading any materials in this promotion.
- If for any reason this promotion is interfered with in any way or not capable of running as planned,
including but not limited to, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention,
fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or
affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, then the
Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion and subject to any written directions given by the
relevant regulatory authority to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion, or invalidate any
affected entries.
- Any costs associated with accessing the website is the entrant's responsibility and is dependent on the
Internet Service Provider used.
- Entries will be deemed to be accepted at the time of receipt by the Promoter and not at the time of
transmission by the entrant. The Promoter has no control over internet services and accepts no
responsibility for any problems associated with them, including but not limited to delays in the
delivery of entries due to technical disruptions, network congestion or any other reason. Entries must
be received by the Promoter by the end of the promotional period. Any entry that does not comply with
these conditions of entry will be deemed invalid. All entries become the property of the Promoter.
- The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to verify the validity of entries, and to
disqualify the entry from and prohibit further participation in this promotion by any person who tampers
with or benefits from any tampering with the entry process, or tampers with the operation of the promotion,
or acts in violation of these conditions of entry, acts in a disruptive manner, or acts with the intent to
abuse, threaten or harass any other person, or includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially
insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, or who has engaged in conduct in entering the promotion
which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the
Promoter.
- To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter and its associated agencies will not be liable for any loss,
expense or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss)
or for personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained, in connection with this promotion or as a
result of accepting or using a prize.
