What can be recycled
Recycling Info
By recycling, we are using less of our natural resources and doing more with what we
already have. Instead of having to use more of our resources every time we might need something
new, we can recycle what we have and make it new again.
Many of us recycle every day, such as placing our used paper in the schools recycling bin, or
recycling your milk bottles at home, or perhaps your parents recycle when they go to work.
The recyclables go in a separate bin to make sure they are separated from rubbish. This way they
can be easily collected by a recycling truck, sorted at Visy's recycling facilities and made back
into useful everyday products.
There are many different things that can be recycled, including plastic bottles and containers;
glass jars, paper and cardboard, aluminium and steel cans.
There are also many items that cannot be placed in your recycling bin at home or school. These
include items such as nappies, drinking cups and plates, plastic shopping bags and food waste.
Recycling is a key weapon in the fight against climate change. By recycling, we save energy, reduce
our water usage and help create new products from packaging we have already used.
Although millions of Australian households recycle, we can all do more to increase recycling and
avoid waste being sent to landfill. It's easy to recycle more, for example, the next time you use
some paper in your classroom at school, when you are finished with it, put it in the recycling
bin. It's that simple!
How to Play
Trash cans around our community are being filled with all sorts of rubbish! We need your help to separate the recyclable items from the waste and to teach everyone else the proper way of recycling.
Chris Judd's Tip:
Try grouping items to earn more points when you place them
in the bins. This will also help you earn power-ups.
Drag Items in to bins
Use your mouse to drag items into their correct bin. Be careful not to put things where
they don't belong though, as each wrong drop adds an extra line to your grid!
Drag Items in to bins
By dragging items belonging to the same group together, you'll not only clear your grid quicker,
but you'll also gain more points!
Earn special moves
As your bin fills up, so does your 'special' bar. Once the bar is full you can use that bin's special move!
